A Perfect Day at Cannon Beach: Capturing Memories with Jamie, Lacy, Garth, and Caye

One of our favorite photography sessions took place at the breathtaking Cannon Beach, where we had the pleasure of working with two amazing couples: Jamie and Lacy, and their partners Garth and Caye. Hailing from Bend, Oregon, they jumped at the chance for some couples portraits and best friend moments at this iconic location.

Their adventure began the night before, staying in a cozy Airbnb close to the beach. Bright and early the next morning, we all met up, eager to start the day. But first, we needed our morning coffee fix at the local favorite, Sleepy Monk Coffee. There's nothing quite like a hot coffee on a chilly Pacific Northwest morning to hit the spot.

Speaking of chilly weather, we can't recommend layering up enough when you're out in the ocean breeze. It keeps you comfortable all day. While they sipped on their drinks, Soraya and I got to know Jamie, Lacy, Garth, and Caye better. They were such friendly couples, and we all hit it off so well that by the end of the day, they mentioned snowmobiling—we might just take them up on it! 😉

After hanging out for a bit, we headed to the iconic Haystack Rock. It was a misty, foggy morning, setting the perfect mood for the session. If you plan to visit, we suggest getting out to Haystack Rock early, as it can get crowded throughout the day. The fog added a mystical touch to the photos, enhancing the natural beauty of the location.

As this was a double couple session, Soraya and I took time to let each couple's personality shine through in their portraits. Jamie and Lacy had a playful and adventurous vibe, while Garth and Caye exuded a calm and loving energy. Capturing these unique dynamics was an absolute joy.

When the beach started to get more populated, we moved to a secluded spot with amazing sand dunes. The couples were game for trekking up and down the massive dunes to get those memorable shots. The effort was well worth it, as the scenery provided a stunning backdrop for their portraits.

We loved our time with Jamie, Lacy, Garth, and Caye. It was a special day filled with laughter, joy, and new friendships. Soraya and I always cherish the opportunity to connect with our clients on a deeper level, and this session was no exception. The weather was perfect, especially for us, who prefer it on the chillier side.

As we wrapped up the session, we felt grateful for the chance to create lasting memories with such wonderful people. We look forward to more joyful times and the many new and lovely people we'll meet along the way. Here's to more adventures and capturing the beauty of authentic moments. We can’t wait to shoot a Cannon Beach elopement. A Cannon Beach wedding would be equally epic!
